The dolphins came —
the mothers and their babies,
the males swimming in pairs,
Beautifully synchronized,
perfectly orchestrated
and unrehearsed,
Making a ring around the humans,
And they began to jump
straight and high,
and into the sun,
As they've leapt for eons,
Even before humankind
arrived on the planet,
And Before and Now and When,
become One time and One place.
